Dear prospective participants,
The BISMUN Association is delighted to announce the launch of the second edition of the Bucharest International Student Model United Nations (BISMUN) conference.
BISMUN is a 5-days simulation of the activity of various United Nations bodies that will take place between 25-29 March 2010 in Bucharest. During the course of the conference, the participants will debate on topics of high interest to the international community:
* SECURITY COUNCIL
The situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan
* 1ST COMMITTEE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY (DISEC)
Iran’s nuclear programme
Cooperation with private military forces and international responsibility
* 2ND COMMITTEE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY (ECOFIN)
Legal empowerment of the poor and eradication of poverty
The Global Economic Crisis and its impact on landlocked developing countries
* ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL (ECOSOC)
Combating forced labor
Finding a lasting solution for external debt problems of developing countries
* HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL
Providing help for surpassing the Zimbabwe education crisis

* COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION – HOME AND JUSTICE AFFAIRS
Cooperation on cross-border crimes: illegal immigration and trafficking in human beings
Cooperation on tackling corruption and financial crimes.

The participation fee for the participants from Romania is 20 euros.
