Asociaţia Studenţilor din Universitatea Bucureşti reprezintă de 10 ani studenţii Universităţii din Bucureşti, atât în consiliile facultăţilor şi Senatul UB, cât şi în alte comisii de specialitate.

Principalele obiective ale membrilor asociaţiei sunt: apărarea drepturilor studenţilor, prezentarea obiectivelor studenţeşti şi promovarea acestora în cadrul UB, ministerului de resort şi legislaţiei din domeniu.

Un nou pachet de legi în domeniul învăţământului românesc a fost aprobat prin asumarea răspunderii în faţa Parlamentului, de către Guvernul României. În acest pachet este omis gradul de reprezentare de 25 % al studenţilor în consiliile facultăţilor, în senatele universitare sau în alte comisii de specialitate, cum era stipulat în legislaţia precedentă. Prin urmare, toate deciziile vor putea fi aprobate fără o consultare şi un vot proporţional al studenţilor.

În acest sens solicităm reintroducerea în pachetul legislativ al educaţiei a procentului minim de 25%, pentru o reprezentare obiectivă a studenţilor în toate comisiile, consiliile şi senatele universitare, aşa cum fusese stabilit la consultările avute pentru acest pachet legislativ, adoptat mult prea rapid având în vedere importanţa sa pentru învăţământul românesc.

De asemenea Federaţia Naţională Sindicală ALMA MATER este nemulţumită de noul pachet legislativ privind legea salarizării unitare, care s-a dovedit a nu respecta acordul încheiat la negocierile ce au avut loc în lunile mai şi iunie. Acest acord prevedea asigurarea unui acces echitabil şi corect la fondurile bugetate ale tuturor categoriilor de salariaţi bugetari. Alianţa Bugetarilor solicită renegocierea legii salarizării unice a bugetarilor.

În aceste condiţii ASUB alături de ALMA MATER va participa în data de 5 octombrie 2009 la GREVA GENERALĂ DE O ZI.
